LIST OF PROGRAMS AVAILABLE
The
following is a list of offerings we hope will prove helpful for educators in
augmenting environmental instruction. We do not charge a fee, but ask for a
donation to help us continue this service to our community. Please let us know
if you have suggestions on how we can better serve your needs.
WETLANDS
For K - 6th grade. This hands-on program brings wetlands alive, helping
children discover just how important wetlands are to the health of our
ecosystem. (approx. 1 hr. Limit: 1 -2 classes at a time)
ANIMALS AROUND THE WORLD
For K - 2nd grade. The presenter uses her talent as an artist to bring animals
and plants to life and talks with the children about special things each animal
(including humans) has to help it survive. (30 - 40 min. Limit: approx. 40)
BACK YARD CONSERVATION
For 4th grade to adult, this presentation demonstrates what we can do in our
own back yards or school grounds to help create a healthy biodiversity through
planting, establishment of habitats, making trails, etc. Free literature
accompanies this program. (Time, group size: flexible)
BASIC BIRD WATCHING
This program is for beginning birders K - adult. Bird watching is a very good
way to bring people and the rest of nature closer together, fostering a better
understanding and respect for our environment. Visual and audio aids, and
slides help our presenter demonstrate what to look for when seeing a bird.
